Hair grows by forming new cells at the base of the root. As these new cells form around the papilla which nourishes them, the old cells are pushed away and die. The new cells gradually force a rod of dead cells up through the follicle. The old cells from the root actually become part of the hair shaft. Hair continues to grow as long as the papilla provides nourishment for new cells. The IHR system emits a harmless radio frequency in the form of dry energy from the tweezer tips.
