This striking model from International Hobby Corp depicts an EMD SD24 Diesel Locomotive as operated by the Atchinson, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway ( later to shortened to Santa Fe ) during the period shortly after WWII. The locomotive carries the famous "Zebra Stripes" high visability scheme which was expressly developed to increase visability at grade crossings.
The locomotive is new and has only spent a few minutes on the rails for testing however it is very evident that the loco is very smooth and responsive and this should only improve once the motor and gearing have settled down after their break in period.
