John Brett COHEN (1934-2001) Contemporary Listed South African Artist John Brett COHEN was recognized as a photojournalist of international repute by 1970 in the British Photography Annual of that year. He received the Nikon Honourable Mention award in 1971. Author, photographer, publisher of Images of my World (one) [1973] and (two) [1998]- black and white photographic compilations with intense social commentary.
Both books have been accepted into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Cream coloured imitation leather boards, Gilt titling on front board. Contents are clear, clean and intact. In Very Good Condition. Corners intact. Very little shelf wear on the edges.
Large full-page B/W photos throughout with text. Contents are clean and bright.
Dust Jacket. Condition: Good. Shelf wear on the edges and corners, as well as on the wraps (folds), some marks and scuffing on both front and back panels, small tears and creases on back panel around the top and bottom edges. Marks and stains on left bottom corner of front panel. Scuffing on all the folds and front and back where spine is bound and pressed against dust jacket. Otherwise still clear and front cover photograph clear.
