Imperial Military Railways Volunteer Corps Pass

The Imperial Military Railways (IMR), formed at the time of the Anglo-Boer War, was an amalgamation of the Orange Free State Government Railways, the Netherlands-South African Railway Company (NZASM) and the Pretoria-Pietersburg Railway.   The IMR controlled railway lines captured in Republican territory, and after the signing of peace in 1902, the IMR’s military function was transferred to civil authority under the Central South African Railways.  The Imperial Military Railways Volunteer Corps became the Central South African Railway Volunteers.
