Impressive Pair of Antique Opaline Painted Glass Vases 

This superb, large, matching pair of antique urn-shaped, hand-painted opaline glass vases, from the early 1900's, feature birds beautifully painted against a pale blue and cream coloured background, with a black round footed base. The blackbirds, probably English swallows, are perched on a green branch amongst yellow flowers, and another branch with leaves in autumn colours. Other than some minor wear to the gilt stripe around the base and top edges of the vases, they're in excellent condition, and the paintings show lovely detail with no wear or flaking to the artwork. They stand 27cm high, with a base diameter of 11cm, a top diameter of 11,8cm, a 13cm diameter at their widest, and together they weigh 1450g.
