Hardcover Hodder and Stoughton Cheaper Edition first issued October 1930, no jacket. The cloth boards are lightly worn, marked and handled, with a few spots of red paint / ink on the front one. There is a faded pen gift inscription on the first end-paper. The first and last few pages are tanned. The fold-out map of the voyage of the Firecrest is whole, but is creased at the right hand fold, and is very loosely bound. There are small tears to pages 35 and 36, and a bump to the top edges of several of the middle pages. All seven photographic plates are present and well bound. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.
