The strikingly beautiful Snow Leopard is to this day one of the most mysterious cats in the world. An endangered species whose pelts command a very high price in the fur market, during the 1960s, the Snow Leopard's total population went down to 1,000 but has since recovered slightly. Snow leopards are solitary hunters and because of the harsh climate in which they live, they must range over many miles in order to find sufficient food to survive.
