India, Gold Quarter Mohur (Pagoda): NGC graded MS 61

The 3 gold coins from India that I am currently listing were part of the large shipwreck collection I recently sold on BidorBuy. They were found with two certificates and two handwritten notes (from the 1960s & 1970s) indicating that some of them were sea salvaged. Only the large Mohur (1819) has its original certificate that is signed by Dr. Franck Mitchell, a past President of the South African Numismatic Society. The other two coins does not have accompanying certificates or notes. However, all three coins are certified by the NGC as per the following pictures.

The Fame was a British East Indiaman, built in Calcutta. On June 14th 1822, while on her return voyage from Madras to England with a cargo of sundries and passengers, she was thrown on the rocks at Sea Point, by a strong North-Westerly storm, off Table Bay, Cape Town, South Africa.

We offer a 100% 7-day money back guarantee. Please view our shipping options, as it clearly spells out all our rules (including rating our services) that you must read before bidding on our items. When you have won an item, we accept that you have indeed read these rules.

You are bidding here on the Gold ¼ Mohur (Pagoda) that is graded by the NGC as MS 61.
