Inductive Sensor Probe LJ18A3-8-Z/BX

The LJ18A3-8-Z/BX Inductive Sensor Probe is a normally open sensor thatcandetect the presence of metals at a range of up to 8mm, and is theidealsolution if you’ve been looking for an inexpensive way to add anautomatic bedlevelling system to your 3D printer. It operates on voltagesbetween 6V and36V DC, and can be connected to various Controller Boards aswell as the ever-common RAMPS via the specialised Inductive Probe Adapter.

Although this sensor is not necessarily an upgrade from thepreviousLJ12A3-4-Z/BX Inductive Sensors that we already stock, it does offerthebenefit of a longer sensing reach, and can detect metals at up to 8mmdistancecompared to the previous 4mm. This ensures that it will be able tomaintainaccurate detection capabilities even if you have a pane of glass orother typeof Build Platform installed on the metal bed.

Additionally, if you don’t have a metal heatbed for the sensor to detect,youcan simply place a layer of tin foil between the bed and the buildplatform.This will allow the sensor to operate without any problems, andwithoutaffecting the heating or insulation capabilities of 3D Printers.
