How it works: It detects low-level subsonic sounds (below the threshold of human hearing) created by the movement of air. Unlike passive infra-red alarms, this alarm will not be activated by animal or human movement in a room. Once activated, after setting up for a particular environment, all can move freely about the premises without the alarm going off - until an outside leading window or door is opened (or tampered with). A window or door may be left partially open, but if it opened any further or closed, the alarm goes off!  It is particularly sensitive to glass breaking, no matter how silently it happens!
