Please note that this CPU is about 15 months old. It was used on an Asus ROG Maximus VIII Gene Z170 motherboard and Corair RAM to compare it to the newer 7700 and 8700 CPU's. The results were quite impressive since this chip benched approximately the same score on FHD (1080p) specs as the 6 core and amped up bus config CPUs. All in all this chip is still a massive gaming chip @ 4.20 GHz turbo. In our tests we reached 4.45 GHz, keep in mind we used high-end cooling equipment in order to achieve stability and also not damage the chip.
GAMING at 1080p was no problem, even at WQHD (1440p) we had no problems, but bench scores were considerably less. Also keep in mind that we used a GTX 1080ti 11GB Graphics card with these tests. At no point did the CPU seize or bottleneck.
