The Intel Pentium D 925 was a desktop processor with 2 cores, launched in October 2006, at an MSRP of $74. It is part of the Pentium D lineup, using the Presler architecture with Socket 775. Pentium D 925 has 2 MB of L2 cache and operates at 3 GHz. Intel is making the Pentium D 925 on a 65 nm production node using 376 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Pentium D 925, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 95 W, the Pentium D 925 consumes a good deal of power, so decent cooling is needed. Intel's processor supports DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface. Actual memory technology support depends on the chosen motherboard, because the memory controller is located on the motherboard (not in the processor).
