Interesting old TOKEN Collection : From 1700s, 1800s and early 1900s
There are 12 token and token-like items in this collection of which some were metal detecting finds. Condition as shown in the pictures.
The first well circulated item is according to an internet source a
“Cheshire Copper Halfpenny Token of 1790 issued in Macclesfield and bearing the legend ‘Charles Roe established the copper works 1758. The reverse has a depiction of Britannia representing industry with 1790 in the exergue and ‘Macclesfield Halfpenny surrounding. The rim is impressed "Payable at Macclesfield Liverpool or Congleton”

The second item is a Napoleonic era medallion that was probably used as a token during the early 1800s.
Named in inscription & portrayed Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. On the reverse It names some of Wellington's military victories between 1808 and 1812.
