This hardcover book printed by Partridge and Cooper Ltd, is in overall good condition. The spine is completely sunned however, as is to a lesser extend, the perimeter of the front board. The pages are all clean and unmarked and undamaged, except for the title page, which has a note glued to it on which is typed ' Sent by:- No. S.A.P. 195888 Sgt. T.J. Burger". The foreword to this book is dated London, June 1945. It is a collection of notes and photographs depicting life in Stammlager VIIIA at Goerlitz, in Lower Silesia, Germany, during World War Two. Although the title concerns British prisoners, there are also team photographs of South African, Australian and New Zealand sports teams, such as athletics, rugby, and basketball.
