INTRICATE VINTAGE CHINESE STONE CARVING -  USED AS CANDLE HOLDER?

This elaborate chine carving of a bird on a stand is 18 cm long.  It has a hollow on the top which looks as if it was meant to be a candle holder.  A lovely item in a good condition as seen on the photos.  Please note that the one petal on the flower seems to be broken, I think that it happened at the carver or was intentional as the colouring is all the same.
