History: John Caldwell Bloomfield, in 1849, ordered a geological survey of his estate. On finding it rich in minerals suitable for pottery, he formed the company and in 1858 started the production of domestic wares. by 1863, the now famous parian porcelain was produced and the company started to diversify, marketing their products world wide
Marks/Observations: This hand woven, porcelain basket was produced no earlier than 1926, the date can be recognised by the fact the base of the basket shows four strands and the imprinted mark of Belleek Co Fermanagh Ireland is shown on two banners on the underside of the basket. Every piece was hand made, from the weaving to the actual hand made flowers and leaves which adorn the edge.
A true work of art throughout.
Condition: Very good overall, just one petal is slightly rough and one petal missing
