Israeli K98/M49 Mauser Bayonet; overal length 38cm, Blade 24cm

Designated the M49 for the year of the pattern's establishment (within a year of the formation of the nation of Israel, in 1948), this was the very first pattern of edged weapon designated by the newly created Israeli state. The numbers match on the scabbard. There are no German markings which suggest that the Bayonet was made in Israel for the Hagenah, forerunners of the IDF.
