You are bidding on a very interesting piece of Italian prisoner of war item.

It is a lidded container fashioned from a 2 shells. The lid has been turned to fit perfectly on the base piece. The lid has inset into the centre of it an old Abyssinian coin of 1930's vintage with a diameter of 40mm. It can be viewed from inside as well. The base also has a coin inset at the bottom, this being a fascist Italian Vittorio Emanuelle coin with a 23mm diameter. The base lid rim has a ding in it, but this does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece.
