ITALIAN VINTAGE MULTI-LINK FILIGREÈ DETAIL STERLING SILVER DROP 'N DANGLE EARRINGS

Very pretty and unusual drop & dangle earrings from Italy, these are crafted out of solid sterling silver and finished with gold gild sections. The earrings consist of four segments: the top round stud section with post and butterfly findings; then three moon-shaped sections, attached with links that allow movement. Each link consists of a solid section and a filigreè openwork detail in the middle. The jeweller has used gold gild on two of the "moon" segments, leaving one moon segment and the stud in its original sterling silver colour. They are 39 mm (3,9cm) long and 24 mm (2,4 cm) wide. They weigh 8,7 grams and bear several hallmarks, including 925 for sterling silver, "Italy" for their origin as well as the jeweller's signature hallmark, From an estate collection dating back to circa 1980. Not many buff marks, only slight dulling of the gold to speak of is age. Definitely something different.
