Up for auction is a stunning Walt Disney Productions “Mickey Mouse” moving eyes pendulum wall clock. Manufactured by MiKen Clock Mfg Co, Inc of Japan. This is a weight driven clock that keeps accurate time. When the clock is running, Mickey flicks his eyes from left to right. The clock comes with its weight, chain and pendulum. I have had the clock running now for a few days, and it seems to run perfectly. The body of the clock is made of wood and molded plastic that is usually quite fragile. I am glad to say that the clock is in superb condition and free of any cracks or breaks. The clock itself “outline of Mickey” measures 27cm high and 17cm wide. Because these clocks are so fragile, I can’t imagine that too many survived in this good condition. It will surely be a rare and treasured addition to any Disney collection. As far as I understand, these clocks were produced from the early 1960’s trough to the 1970’s. Please see the two photographs of the chain where a washer has been fixed to the chain to avoid it being pulled up to far and the weight from interfering with the pendulum. Also note that the chain is attached to the weight with a small piece of copper wire that was not the original. All and all a very nice and desirable clock.

This auction is for the Dutch Reformed Church in Westville Durban and their annual Fete to be held on Saturday the 30th of October 2010.
