Offered for sale is a fine and rare Gouda Ivora ceramic vase with a hand painted motif of an exotic bird in a fantasy design of curvaceous floral and abstract motifs. The vase is in a semi matte finish in a vivid combination of contrasting hues predominantly tones of green contrasting with black , white, yellow, blue , and mauve. The vase has a simple classical baluster shape with slightly flared low foot , high shoulder and a flared collar/rim. Gouda Ivora and Regina ceramics are keenly collected on the international market fetching high prices. Ceramics decorated with exotic birds , people or houses/buildings are consider rare and sell at a premium. This vase features a long tailed and crested bird perhaps a golden pheasant set in relief against a semi abstract background of flowers and foliage offset with dramatic Art Nouveau inspired decorative shapes and cartouches. The vase has hand painted makers marks on the base including the manufacturers name Ivora, place/country of origin Gouda Holland , the painters initials , a 3 digit serial number probably the pattern/design code and the date of manufacture 1930.
