Restored Antique Barber Chair from 1890’s by Theo Kochs Co. Incredible!

For sale is the Rolls Royce of early barber chairs which wasmanufactured by Theo Kochs Co. Chicago where it was on display at the 1893Columbian Expo Worlds Fair.  The newlypatented hydraulic mechanism was a technological marvel, making this chair oneof the most desirable of the early pump up chairs.  The original decal is on the bottom of theback of the chair.  See photo.

As one of the first hydraulic chairs ever made, the Theo Kochexhibit earned several first place awards for design and innovation. Theleather upholstery has been faithfully reproduced with the original wine colourhigh grade leather and tacking to the same standards.  The metal has been left as is in case the newowner would like to have it nickel plated. The wooden frame and carving have been restored as well.  The mechanism appears to work in very goodoperational  form and the chair reclinesas shown in the photos.  The head rest isabsent, but can be purchased from eBay.

This wonderful by-gone gem makes an excellent gift orinvestment and would be a great addition to a man-cave, den or barbershop.  There are also two 1880 vintagebarber stands available with the original etched glass, walnut and marble tops.(not shown).
