Eschenbach Stereo Microscope with Ambient Lighting and Single-Arm Boom Stand. 

Boom stands used with stereo microscopes allow for adjusting the microscope head around three axes (x, y and z) and to precision adjust the microscope to point at a specimen in any direction. Double arm boom stands with ball bearing slide mechanisms are appropriate for use with heavier microscopes and in commercial applications where the microscope head is adjusted often.
