Sterling Silver Medal: Wildlife Society 50th Anniversary: Wildebeest

These beautiful medals were issued from 1976 to 1978 by the Africana Commemorative Mint to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wildlife Society of Southern Africa. See Laidlaw number 0081. The medals are 45 mm in diameter and weigh between 36 grams and 37 grams each. They were struck in sterling silver and gilded in gold. Because people collect different animals (i.e. the Big Five, reptiles, birds, etc.) we have decided to auction the medals off individually. Please note that because of their age, some of the medals might show tarnishing. The medal in the picture below is the actual item you are bidding on.
