Heavy Vintage Silver Charm Bracelet with Exceptional Charms

 

The vintage charm bracelet is made up of a chunky curb chain bracelet with a padlock closure, with safety chain, and eleven silver charms of unusual design and complexity.  The bracelet is marked "JAM" the maker's mark for JA Main Ltd, and has the lion passant, sterling mark, the hallmark for Birmingham and the date letter for 1969 on the padlock. Also, all the links are marked with the lion passant, sterling mark.

The charms are:

 

• Letter box with ER II on front. No silver marks. Circa 26mm long.
• Angel holding large bowl. No silver marks. Circa 35mm long.
• Articulated fish. Marked "SILV". Circa 41mm long.
• Globe on stand with revolving, spherical, turquoise bead. Marked "SILV". Circa 26mm long
• Sailing yacht with "CAR 5" on sail. No silver marks. Circa 25mm long.
• Articulated horse drawn double decker bus with open top. Appears to have "E2 MAIL" on sides. No silver marks. Circa 26mm long.
• Double storey cottage opens up to reveal people seated at a table inside. Has maker's mark "NUVO REG" and is marked "SILVER". Circa 17mm long with base closed.
• Elephant with trunk up. Marked "SIL". Circa 23mm long.
• Pierced St Christopher pendant. Marked "GJ Ltd", which is an unidentified maker's mark, and "SILV". Circa 25mm long.
• Coffee pot with amber coloured cut crystal body. Marked "NUVO; SILV"
• Monkey nut shell which opens to show Monkey inside.

 

All charm lengths are including bales. The charms marked "NUVO" were made by a subsidiary of jewellers and silversmiths R. Platnauer of Birmingham. The brand name was used between about 1961 and 1990.
