About the author (2001)

Lance Armstrong is a seven-time winner of the Tour de France and fulltime cancer fighter. He won the first of his record-setting seven Tour de France wins after surviving a nearly fatal bout with testicular cancer. In 2008, he was named one of "Time "magazine's 100 Most Influential People. He lives in Austin, Texas.

Veteran sports resporter SALLY JENKINS is the author of "Men Will Be Boys" and coauthor of "Reach for the Summit" and "A Coach's Life" (with Dean Smith). Her work has appeared in "Sports Illustrated, Women's Sports & Fitness", and "The Washington Post".
