It's true this is not the most virtuosic of jazz performances. Indeed, if you are looking for that, then the Oscar Peterson and Stephane Grapelli recordings are perhaps your cup of tea. But the combination of a jazz legend with a classical legend, in a very relaxed, a la private jam session, is melodically simple, yet beautiful- the high notes of Perlman's Strad! Like old friends enjoying some favourite tunes together after dinner... Non technical, but nice interplay between the artists. With a little touch of wistfulness and reflection in the finale: Why Think About Tomorrow. The recording quality is also very good.
