It is dated 1956 and is signed by Ivanonia Roworth, a professional South African painting of considerable standing, and is an excellent investment. Ivanonia Roworth ( now Mrs. Keet) is the daughter of Edward Roworth, one of South Africa's old masters.
Dimensions of the painting are 40.5 cm by 22 cm.
Ivanonia's works have achieved some notable successes at auction. In the 17 September 1999 sale at Christies in London one of her works fetched a price of 2875 pounds, which is about R32 500. It was also of a group of horses, as is this one.

Ivanonia Roworth was born in Richmond, England, UK, 1920. She began her art training in her teens at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT in 1934 under Professor John Wheatley and her father Professor Edward Roworth .She won the Michaelis Prize and later taught drawing at the School.
At 90 she is still painting and is the SASA member of longest standing.
