IWC Schaffhausen Watch Catalogue, hardcover, illustrated, 15.5 cms x 21.4 cms, condition; as new.
More than 150 years ago, the American watchmaker and engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones travelled from Boston to Schaffhausen. On the banks of the Rhine, he realized his bold vision of an industrialized, centralized watch production powered directly by the rivers current.
The perpetual energy of the water, the source of all life, not only made our founders dream come true. It has also inspired us and fundamentally shaped the way we make our watches. We manufacture products that are built to last for eternity responsible in our way of treating our planet and its resources, and respectful of the people who wear our timepieces with joy.
Our watches are built to last a long-term approach that is reflected through our manufacture movements, our robust and reliable chronographs, our mechanically programmed calendars, or the advanced materials we use. What eternity is to function, timelessness is to design. A mechanical watch from IWC Schaffhausen can be handed down through generations. Our functional approach to design, characterized by purity and symmetry, ensures that our products will remain beautiful and culturally relevant.
This unique mindset is expressed through our promise of Engineering beyond time. Timeless Design. Engineered to last. And made with the utmost respect for people and planet.
The company was transferred to the Rauschenbach family in 1880 after bankruptcy and has been a subsidiary of the Swiss Richemont Group since 2000.
