J & G MEAKIN GYPSY TERESA'S FORTUNE TELLING CUP & SAUCER c. 1950 ENGLAND
Made in the 1950's, this example is called, 'Gypsy Teresa's Fortune Telling Cup. There are maker's marks to both the bottom of the cup and the saucer. The cup has the maker and England stamped before firing. The saucer has in black ink Regd. SOL 391413, a Sun symbol and J & G Meakin England. So both pieces of the set are authenticated. The cup has a small chip on the edge, the saucer however has no damage. The price is reflective of this minor damage. A nice piece of Meakin for any collection. Selling on other sites for $120.00 and up.
