DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
DESCRIPTIONA lovely and decorative original oil painting by European artist J Reynolds. The artwork is done on canvass over hardboard and is unframed. It is dated '34 (1934) by the artist next to his signature. It depicts a river scene with a bridge in Florence, Italy and is small and in vertical format. It measures 35 x 30 cm. Tha artist has signed it in the bottom right corner. Please have a look at the 4 images which follow, because they describe this lovely artwork better than I can.
CONDITIONThe artwork is still in good condition with no paint loss and the colours nice and bright. I think that this painting was originally done on canvass over a stretcher and that the canvass was glued on to hardboard at a later stage, since hardboard was not generally used in 1934.
NOTES
A well executed and attractive little oil painting which depicts a typical Florentine scene. A nice vintage work which will look really good when framed.
