For 29 years, until 1895, Mr. Daniel sold his fine Tennessee Sippin' Whiskey in barrels, kegs, and stoneware jugs.
Several years before the Spanish-American war, Mr. Lem Motlow, Mr. Jack's nephew, suggested to Mr. Jack that they should sell their whiskey in glass bottles.
Mr. Jack was looking for a unique bottle to hold his unique whiskey. After considering many shapes and sizes, he finally agreed to the familiar square bottle very similar to those sold today.
The original bottle held one U.S. quart.
This one liter decanter, a replica of the original bottle, commemorates that day back in 1895, when Mr. Daniel, our favorite gentleman, chose his unique bottle.
