Original pen sketch on notepaper by Polish/British artist, Jan Le Witt (1907-1991). Includes frame with glass.
180 x 135 mm (actual drawing only). Abstract figures, dedicated to author John Smith, 16 December 1963.
Provenance: Estate of late John Smith. Very good condition.
John Lewitt (also "Jan Le Witt") (born 3 April 1907 in Czestochowa, Poland; died 1991 in London, England.) - Polish-British graphic designer, illustrator, poster artist. After graduating from high school in Czestochowa, he travelled in three years across Europe and the Middle East. He maintained his job as a laborer in the engineering industry, a soap factory, a distillery, and as a farm laborer. Self-taught, he worked as a graphic artist, architect and composer.
