Jan Smuts Bronze Plaque by Hennie Potgieter, in wooden frame, signed H Potgieter 1940

Hennie Potgieter (1916 – 1992) was a well-known South African sculptor

Weight 797 grams, with explanatory note from owner, who supplied pennies (for the bronze used) to the father of Potgieter, age 24 (not 12) at time. This is one of 2 copies, the other with the Smuts family. The frame measures 170 mm x 220 mm.
