Japan: Silver 1 Shu Gin & 1 Bu from Emperor Komei Period (1846-1868)

Emperor Komei was the 121st Emperor of Japan. According to the traditional order of succession. Komei's reign spanned the years from 1846 through 1867, corresponding to the final years of the Edo period. These highly collectible coins (maybe best described as silver bars or ingots) are from theĀ last years of the Samurai era.

The smaller one is a 1 Shu Gin (1853-1865) struck in .968 silver weighing 1.89 grams and the bigger one a 1 Bu (1837-1868) struck in .991 silver weighing 8.66 grams.
