Japanese Arita Toshikane Porcelain Samurai Warrior Gold Tone Cufflink Vintage 1960s

A RARE VINTAGE 1960'S JAPANESE SAMURAI WARRIOR CUFFLINK WITH PORCELAIN BY ARITA TOSHIKANE. THE WARRIOR IS DESIGNED ON A CERAMIC PANEL INSET IN A GOLD METAL FRAME.
 
TOSHIKANE WAS A JAPANESE COMPANY FROM ARITA, JAPAN THAT FABRICATED PORCELAIN BUTTONS AND JEWELRY DATING BACK TO AS EARLY AS THE 1940'S.
 
The Toshikane Company made porcelain buttons and in turn created jewelry including, bracelets, earrings, cufflinks, tie tacs, and hair ornaments. Their pieces are usually square - rectangular, flat with raised detail and black background. The company produced at least as early as the 1940s (possibly older) through the 1960s (possibly longer?). Swank produced a line of men's dress jewelry including cufflinks and tie tacs using the Toshikane porcelains during the 1960s. The company is located in Tokyo Japan.
 
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CUFFLINKS ARE NOT MARKED TOSHIKANE BUT AN ONLINE SEARCH WILL CONFIRM THAT IT WAS MADE BY TOSHIKANE. THEY ARE MARKED METAL AND PAT 144.883. THE METAL IS IN A GOLD TONE.
