First Edition, The Hokuseido Press, 1932. Hard Cover, The book is bound in a lovely illustrated cream-yellow cloth binding, slightly soiled, Front board has a "Japanese" ink-stamp as does ffep, Book Block binding is a little shaky, page ends and tail are un-trimmed, some light foxing to outside edges of book block. Housed in a printed chipboard slipcase. Contains a Paper, which I assume to be a bookseller's invoice, as it is written in Japanese. The book is in good condition; the slipcover is intact, hinge of slip-cover is worn, and also has the Japanese ink-stamp. A compilation of writings by Glenn Shaw (a writer and teacher who lived in Japan for more than 40 years, from 1913 to 1957, with a brief break during the war) under the chapter headings of: Essayish, Storial, Traveloguish, Diarial, and Homiletical. A rather rare and collectible book.
