Common Name: Japanese Tree Lilac
This white flowered lilac is the large and picturesque Japanese Tree Lilac. This variety grows 6 to 9 meters tall with a spread of 4.5 to 7.5 meters forming an oval to rounded-shaped small tree. Beautiful white flowers are borne in early to mid June in large terminal panicles up to 30cm long and up to 25cm wide. Its cherry-like bark has a satiny appearance and a reddish-brown color. These respond well to pruning and can be grown as a shrub or small tree, and also make for great flowering bonsai. This is a very showy specimen tree. Hardy to -39°C.
