When I designed this top it had to be first and foremost in ENGLISH, which is an universal language. Being a South African I had to add something of us and chose our other official language afrikaans and added a bit of it in, so all can learn a word or two. The JEO tops come with the full instructions below. So, here goes.
Firstly the pictures that are printed on the fabric are of different emotions, a child can just show you how he or she feels, just pointing to one of the faces.
WHAT CAN MY CHILD LEARN FROM THEIR JEO TOP?
. Colour and shape recognition.
. Alphabet letters and word recognition.
. Number recognition and counting skills.
. Hand and eye co-ordination.
. Auditory perception of words, letters, and numbers.
HOW DO I TEACH AND STIMULATE MY CHILD WITH THEIR JEO TOP
a)SHAPES, ANIMALS AND MY FAMILY
. Name each: circle, star, square, bird, fish etc.
. Name the colours of the pictures: red-fish, blue-star.
. Count the number of pictures and shapes.
. Spell and pronounce the word and letter under the pictures: f-i-s-h spells fish.
. Ask questions:"What colour is the sisters bow?"
"Where do you think fish live?"
b)NUMBERS
. Count the numbers.
. Count the dots on the numbers
. Name the colours of the numbers
. Ask questions: "What number comes after one?" etc.
c)BUTTONS ON POCKETS
. Teach your child to DO and UNDO the buttons on the pockets, so they can learn to dress and undress themselves faster and self-reliant.
d)CORD
. Teach your child to tie a bow, so he can learn to tie shoelaces.
. Teach your child to thread the cord through the button holes, for hand and eye co-ordination,
"REMEMBER", always let your child try too and praise them for their effort.
