LARGE 'JEWELLERY ART' SMOKY QUARTZ SERPENT-THEMED RING. HAND-CRAFTED

This ring is a one and only! The piece is very organic; twig-like openwork wraps around the finger forming the shank and sterling silver serpents coil up onto the ring head, encircling and capturing a large 23 carat smoky quartz. Pitted with black rhodium detail, the contrasting textures and differing colours of gold, silver and black add to the interest of the piece. At 25,11 grams and standing 20mm proud above the finger, it is large and noticeable.I have had the ring jeweller tested and authenticated - the smoky quartz is Africa mined. It's an outrageous piece that looks amazing on the hand if you have a flair for the dramatic!
The serpent motif was revived during the Victorian era after Prince Albert presented the Queen with a ring in the image of a snake. It became a ubiquitous motif during the 19th century, representing wisdom and eternity.
