On offer this stunning original acrylic painting by renowned SA artist Joe Marais. This emotive painting of a sunset with trees in the foreground in wonderfully rich colours makes for a truly stunning and desirable art work. It is quality framed, double mounted in a wooden frame with bronzed effect, behind glass. In frame it measures 65x55cm and painting only 34x24cm. In excellent condition with no damage to report (apologies for the reflections in the glass).

Born in Beaufort West, Marais grew up in KZN. A natural love for drawing led him to start sketching and painting and inspired by the African landscape and wild life, he used his preferred medium of acrylics, to capture this beauty on canvas. Currently he offers art classes and demonstrations to members of various art societies. Joe has given country-wide local exhibitions and has exhibited at "Art in the Park" in Pietermaritzburg, Kirstenbosch in Cape Town, Zoo Lake in Johannesburg and elsewhere. In June 1993 his painting of two sparrows on a milk-can was selected for the back page of Reader’s Digest. In 1995 he was invited to exhibit at the “Washington Square Outdoor Art exhibition”. He also exhibited successfully in Central Park, New York, Canada and London. In January 2004 he exhibited at the Safari Club International Convention in Reno, Nevada.

His paintings can be found in collections locally as well as the USA, Europe and Australasia.
