I never met the artist Johan Taljaard.  He was active in the Red Shed in the V & A Waterfront.  One of his trademarks was that he took a tube of silicone glue (as seen in the above painting, the brown beach area), set it to light to burn it brown and killed the fire which aloud a shiny brown area to reflect on the painting.  He died about 2006 in Cape Town.  This painting was signed 1987and he  called it Arniston, Cape. I heard he could paint very fast finishing a painting within the hour.  That way he could sell at very competitive prices to be able also to pay the expensive rent in the V & A Waterfront.

THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT HAVE THE PAINTING COVERED IN GLASS.  Some of the acrylic paint came off over the years as seen in the above picture.  The artist only painted the middle of the board, an effect used by artists now and again  I ADDED A NEW FRAME AND GLASS TO THE PAINTING.
