ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN SILVER PLATED BLADED CAKE KNIFE WITH MOTHER-OF-PEARL HANDLE - JOHN SANDERSON
Highly Collectable and extremely RARE item
This Bladed Cake knife was manufactured by JOHN SANDERSON, Sheffield between 1887 and 1900 and has been decorated with an engraved Linear pattern interspersed with wreaths along the top of the blade. The Bottom portion of the blade is still sharp and the top portion accommodating the Pattern has a serrated edge. The item is fitted with an exquisite Mother-of-pearl handle and probably the MOST remarkable quality of this item, aside from its Beauty and Edwardian Grace, is the fact that it is in IMMACULATE condition.
"John Sanderson was active at 18 Arundel St (1887 - 1889) and 34/36 Holly St, Sheffield (1895 - 1900). After this John Sanderson & Son LTD was created" The hallmark on the blade dates the item to (1887-1900) since it does not yet have "LTD" included
