Stunning beaker handcrafted in pewter by John Somers of São João del Rei, Brazil. This is an antique repro made by craftsmen in the manner of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The JS X MG mark on the piece is one of two signature marks introduced by Somers in 1968; the "X" indicating that the piece is lead free, and the MG for Minas Gerais, the southeastern state in Brazil where this item was made. Base is marked as well.
