I thought I owned every Johnny Cash album available, but this one escaped me. I had read of it in one of the many Cash biographies and coffee table books about him. In one of them he said that this was one of his favorites. I ordered it from Amazon and was pleasantly surprised.
All the selections have a real "fat" sound of both background voices and instrumentation; Cash's voice is in rare form. The material is excellent, and, as far as I am concerned, Beans For Breakfast alone is worth the price of the CD.
I might be wrong, but I suspect that this disc was recorded maybe 20 years ago, and was either unissued then, or issued in small quantities.
Anyway, if you're a fan, you'll love this album
