Journeys To The Interior - Unseen Works by Irma Stern 1929 - 1939

Author: Andrea Lewis & Shea Albert, English, Monograph , Soft cover, 190.5x190.5mm, 103 pages, stunning cataloge with numerous colour plates and many pages of Stern's sketches and drawings.

Journeys To The Interior - Unseen Works by Irma Stern 1929 - 1939, an exhibition of original paintings and sketches, opened to the public in April 2006. This catalogue, from the exhibition, comprises a foreword, four chapters, numerous colour and b/w plates, a bibliography and a chronology. Very light shelf wear but overall in excellent, virtually new condition.

This exhibition catalogue focuses on her work in that critical decade 1929 to 1939 and includes many of her sketches as well as paintings.

Although well-known oil paintings, charcoal studies and gouaches are displayed in Journeys to the Interior: Unseen works by Irma Stern, 1929-1930, this is the first time that material from Stern's sketchbooks had been exhibited to the public.
