LRC Auction: William Kentridge "Wittgenstein's Rhinoceros"

This piece, called "Wittgenstein's Rhinoceros, is 1660 X 1220 (framed) and refers to a famous encounter between Wittgenstein and Russell, where the former refused to admit that there was no rhino in the room. In fact, it is an early exchange about philosophy of mathematics and reference.

On its 30th anniversary, the Legal Resources Centre is auctioning Art & Autographed Books. Artists include William Kentridge, Thea Soggott, Vusi Mfupi, and many more. Authors include Nelson Mandela, George Bizos, Nadine Gordimer, and many more.

The Legal Resources Centre is an independent, client-based, non-profit public interest law clinic which uses law as an instrument of justice. It works for the development of a fully democratic society based on the principle of substantive equality, by providing free legal services for the vulnerable and marginalised, including the poor, homeless, and landless people and communities of South Africa who suffer discrimination by reason of race, class, gender, disability or by reason of social, economic, and historical circumstances.
