Juanita Du Plessis – Ek En Jy 2xCD

Following her 1998 debut, Ek en Jy was released via her own Juanita Records label. Musically, it serves as the perfect bridge between country-inflected storytelling and high-energy Afrikaans dance music. The production is bright, rhythmic, and custom-built for dance floors across the country, while maintaining an authentic, emotional core.

Key Tracks:

"Ska-Rumba": The undeniable crown jewel of the album. This track became an overnight cross-cultural smash, blending a catchy African dance tempo with localized flavor. Decades later, it remains a definitive party anthem in South Africa.

"Ek en Jy": The title track delivers heartfelt, yearning lyrics ("Jy's 'n deel van my en ek sal vir altyd wag...") over an infectious pop beat. It perfectly highlights Juanita's ability to balance emotional vulnerability with an upbeat tempo.

"Wag Vir Jou": A beautifully composed collaboration with Pieter Naudé that balances the heavier dance tracks with melodic depth.
