Widely regarded as one of the most creative musicians of his generation, Julian Lloyd Webber has collaborated with an extraordinary array of musicians from Yehudi Menuhin, Lorin Maazel and Neville Marriner to Georg Solti and Elton John.
Julian has made many outstanding recordings including his Brit-Award winning Elgar Concerto conducted by Yehudi Menuhin (chosen as the finest ever version by BBC Music Magazine) and a coupling of Britten's Cello Symphony and Walton's Concerto with Sir Neville Marriner, which was described by Gramophone magazine as "beyond any rival".

2005 saw the successful release of his third recording for EMI: Phantasia, composed by his brother Andrew, who based the work for violin, cello and orchesta on his triumphant musical The Phantom of the Opera. Julian recorded it together with EMI exclusive artist Sarah Chang.

With an overall calming and relaxing theme, and the repertoire ranging from the core classical (i. e. Orff, Chopin, Faur¿¿, Elgar, Hahn) to the more contemporary (Piazzolla, a James Horner theme from the film Braveheart, traditionals, Cat Stevens¿¿ ¿¿Lady D¿¿Arbanville¿¿ and¿¿a song from musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Unexpected Song will appeal to a wide audience.
