Ian Maree is a South African artist, specializing in oils on canvas, although he is comfortable in most mediums including acrylic and charcoal. Ian is largely self taught and has been painting professionally for the last five years. His natural talent is fuelled by his passion for art as well as a natural curiosity and a desire for excellence. This has resulted in unprecedented success in a relatively short space of time. He has attracted an extensive database of clients, having sold to a number of local and international collectors and can proudly say that his works are in homes and businesses across 6 continents. He is currently enjoying great success with his wildlife series which has a modern spin on traditional wildlife art and is done mainly in Sepia tones. His portfolio also includes an extensive series of paintings inspired by the people, places, colours, moods and movement of Johannesburg. He also offers a unique perspective on Portraiture, capturing emotions and the play of light
